Isostatic pressing technology is based on Pascal’s Law to achieve uniform compaction of materials in all directions. Isostatic pressing, fully named isostatic forming, has its core physical principle rooted in Pascal’s Law: in a confined fluid, pressure applied to any part of the fluid will be transmitted equally in all directions without loss. Unlike traditional uniaxial or biaxial mechanical presses, the technical essence of isostatic pressing equipment lies in the word “isostatic,” meaning the sample experiences exactly the same magnitude of pressure in every direction. This principle allows isostatic presses to overcome the limitations of conventional unidirectional pressing and realize uniform compaction of materials from all angles; its technological nature is to build a three‑dimensional pressure field through a fluid medium to densify powdered materials into shape.


Isostatic pressing equipment is a key device in the mid‑stage core densification process of solid‑state battery mass‑production lines, positioned specifically after “forming hot pressing” and before “pre‑sealing.” It is an irreversible critical step that determines the density of the cell and the quality of interfacial contact. Its main role is to perform final densification treatment on stacked and initially hot‑pressed bare cells, using a three‑dimensional uniform pressure field to eliminate solid–solid interface gaps and internal pores, thereby providing a structurally stable and performance‑consistent cell substrate for subsequent sealing and formation/aging processes.

Warm isostatic pressing equipment is the optimal solution for solid‑state battery industrialization. Its operating temperature range matches closely with the thermal stability of solid‑state battery materials, allowing moderate heating to reduce internal friction resistance of the materials and enhance densification while avoiding high‑temperature‑induced reactions or performance degradation.
